Making Tax Digital Bridging Software
Our Making Tax Digital Bridging software allows you to file your VAT return with HMRC and continue to use your existing software(or spreadsheet records). You can see some more background information on bridging software on our blog post.
You need first to sign up for making tax digital for VAT with HMRC and wait 72 hours for your Government Gateway username and password to be approved.
Please log in to our MTD bridging software to submit your VAT return - www.redware.com/vat.
You can then use this website to access your VAT information simply by pressing the login button here and logging in using your HMRC credentials. Once logged in, the important information is on the obligations tab which shows you the date of your next VAT return.
You now need to cut and paste the nine figures that make up your VAT return into our spreadsheet format which has two columns - the first with the digits 1-9 and the second with your pasted values. You can download a sample here and remember it is a CSV file.
Selecting the VAT return brings up a web page for you to upload the CSV and then view and approve your VAT return. HMRC receives the information directly and, in a few days, you will be able to see your liabilities and payments with the remaining two tabs on our site.
Please view the three videos below on how to sign up as an MTD user, how to create the CSV file and submit a VAT return using our MTD Bridging Software, and how to create the CSV file in Sage 50.
We are not currently charging for this service so please say something nice about redware on social media if you like us.
